Morrison Energy Services wins two Street Works UK Awards
18th November 2021
Morrison Energy Services has received the Best Collaborative Works and the Innovation Excellence awards at this year’s Street Works UK Awards.
Together with partners Turner & Townsend and Edinburgh City Council, Morrison Energy Services received the Best Collaborative Works award for its work on the Edinburgh Trams project. The Edinburgh Trams Swept Path Scheme is a huge project that requires the clearance of underground utilities for tram rail and infrastructure installation works running throughout the city. Demonstrating unprecedented levels of collaboration to clear, divert and replace water, gas, electricity and telecom infrastructure along the route, Morrison Energy Services and its partners have ensured the success of a uniquely challenging project.
As well as this, Morrison Energy Services has also received the Innovation Excellence award for its revolutionary approach to small diameter gas mains street works. After recognising the huge potential benefits of Cured in Place Pipe (CIPP) for small diameter gas mains, Morrison Energy Services was awarded over £400,000 as part of Transport for London’s (TfL) Lane Rental Scheme. This project will also utilise the expertise of fellow M Group Services operating businesses, IWJS and PMP Utilities, providing an opportunity for cross-divisional collaboration. This use of CIPP will result in reductions in carbon output, material cost and customer impact, providing a range of social and environmental benefits for the customers throughout the area the works are undertaken in.
These award wins highlight the vision and values of both Morrison Energy Services and the Group as a whole. Collaboration and innovation lay at the heart of all that we do, and these projects embody our values of delivering for customers in a manner that is both sustainable and respectful.
Congratulations and well done to everyone involved in the projects!
Back to all.
