Morrison Energy Services’ Power Network Craftsperson apprenticeship accredited by the IET

We are delighted that our’ Power Network Craftsperson apprenticeship scheme has been successful in gaining re-accreditation through the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).

The IET accredits apprenticeships delivered by organisations that have the potential to provide its apprentices with the professional engineering and business competencies, which are valued throughout the engineering sectors.

Accreditation from the IET highlights our commitment to development and progression.

The accreditation process included an assessment by an IET representative, who met with several of our apprentices on the UKPN project, as well as Kate Hickey, Emerging Talent Manager at M Group Services’ Energy Division. The assessment looked at a range of evidence including the roles undertaken by apprentices, how the scheme supports the wider business and the mentoring and support available to apprentices.

Kate Hickey, Emerging Talent Manager, said: “Obtaining re-accreditation for our apprenticeship programme through the IET demonstrates the quality of technical and professional development our apprentices gain on the scheme.

“The accreditation highlights the level of support given to our apprentices, through our line managers and mentors in the business. Having an accredited programme also means that our apprentices can apply for Engineering Technician (EngTech) registration upon successful completion of their programme.’

Registration, awarded by the Engineering Council, is only available to professional, competent technicians and engineers, and is recognised throughout the world.
