Morrison Energy Services is pleased to announce it has become a member of Hydrogen UK, a trade association committed to the development and use of hydrogen solutions.
As the largest hydrogen trade body in Britain, Hydrogen UK’s mission is to ensure that Government and industry work together to deliver a hydrogen economy and achieve net-zero. Covering every part of the value chain from production to storage and networks to end-use, Hydrogen UK is uniquely positioned to advise on how to move from the planning stages to delivery of hydrogen-based solutions.
This partnership with Hydrogen UK is aligned with Morrison Energy Services’ key focus on decarbonisation to support the transition to a net-zero economy in its work to renew, refurbish and maintain the country’s gas, electricity and green energy infrastructure.
Morrison Energy Services’ commitment to net-zero solutions includes a focus on decarbonisation and preparing the networks to carry hydrogen gas, as well as proven renewable connections and electric vehicle charging capabilities.
Sean Kelly, Executive Director for Morrison Energy Services, said: “Becoming a member of Hydrogen UK is part of our ambition to be at the forefront of the UK gas industry’s drive towards net zero. We are looking forward to sharing our people’s expertise and passion with our colleagues throughout the industry and using this collaboration to support our clients’ ambitious environmental targets.
“Our commitment to operating sustainably was recently recognised by the prestigious International Green Apple Awards, winning the ‘Environmental Best Practice’ award for our use of an innovative solar pod to power office cabins at our Bromley-by-Bow depot. Along with this, our industry leading deployment of CIPP lining on a connected gas network highlights how our people are committed to pushing the boundaries of possibility within the gas industry to drive sustainability in all its forms.
“As a part of M Group Services, we are able to leverage the outstanding environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance of our fellow Group operating businesses to support the achievement of our ambitious target of 50 per cent reduction in carbon emissions by 2030.”
