Morrison Energy Services carves a lasting impression with community wood donation
29th December 2023
In its commitment to protect the environment and communities in which it works, Morrison Energy Services donated wood, a waste product from the packaging used to deliver equipment, to two community projects local to the Welsh site.
The project team donated to Afon?Gwreiddiau (or ‘River?Roots’ in English), a newly formed project focused on environmental growing projects in the community. Working to champion local people, Afon-Gwreinddiau works to establish opportunities to sustain a safer, cleaner and greener environment for the community.
The wood donated has been used in various community projects, including the creation of plant beds, signs and animal houses for the local area.
The Morrison Energy Services team was also pleased to donate to The Festival Park Owl Charity. Working to provide rehabilitation and care for injured, abandoned owls, hawks and falcons, the charity’s main goal is to care for the birds until they can be released back into the wild.
The wood donated by Morrison Energy Services has been used to create a ‘Thomas the Tank Engine’ compost bin, providing a further opportunity for sustainable recycling on the charity site.
Speaking on the importance of the donations, Andrea Simon, Head of SHEQ at Morrison Energy Services- Electricity Transmissions, said: “Giving back to the communities where we work is an essential element of our environmental, social and governance (ESG) commitments. We hope both charities continue to benefit from the wood donations.”
Back to all.
