Morrison Energy Services supports creation of Manchester’s first large-scale Charging Oasis
24th January 2025
We’re proud to be working with Electric Vehicle (EV) charging network firm, Be.EV, to create Manchester’s first large-scale Charging Oasis.
The site, located on Oldham Road, Manchester, will see our team work to build and install EV charging equipment into the former disused petrol station.
On completion, the site will be transforming the site into a hub with 12 ultra-rapid charging bays, capable of charging an EV to 80% in 20 minutes.
The charge points will be accompanied by four labelled waiting bays, giving EV owners clear spaces to queue when the hub becomes busy. Our team will work to support Be.EV into ensuring these bays can be converted into full charging bays, when demand requires.
The Charging Oasis project is part of the ongoing regeneration of the Failsworth area, with Manchester City Council committing more than £550 million for regeneration, with the site serving as a focal point for further investment.
Our EV team will use our carbon-cutting installation process, further supporting making our operations more sustainable, in line with our Environmental, Social and Government (ESG) aspirations.
Philip Baker, Operations Manager at Morrison Energy Services, said: “ Across Morrison Energy Services, we understand just how integral EV charging is in the UK’s journey to Net Zero. We’re excited to begin work to support our longstanding client Be.EV in delivering Manchester’s first large-scale charging oasis.”
Back to all.
